WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrades by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade; visit Historydb now >>>, will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade item is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item upgrader kit is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
