World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats improve in value. This is the sum of all the leveled up advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that need to be modified to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the power of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it is capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done by using the level of the item.

On PC, you are able to view the item level using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item upgrader mod's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a few theories about how the calculation of the item's level is carried out. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated using an equation that determines the value of an Best item upgrade's stats actually are. It takes into consideration that different benefits are valued differently and that gems found in sockets boost the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.

This is not the only thing that affects the level of an item. The location of where the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit score. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's skill.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats on an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This will cost a specific amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat in the same range, unless it's an exclusive item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. But as with base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to boost the luck of the item to 140.

Moreover, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade items or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it fails.

The success rate of an upgrade item is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5%.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
