Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. 2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it also learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted room, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot cleaner with mop in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum mop cleaner robot and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
