World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you do. This is due to how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a widely used measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips of items. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a measure of the damage and its quality. The level of the item upgrader kit can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a seller.

On your PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item level upgrade, as well as its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item upgrade. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual item level.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what makes or breaks an Best item upgrade for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.

Another way to change the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using the arrows that circle. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or the result of a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another thing that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to boost. Like base equipment, it must be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck or to boost the luck of the item up to 140.

Moreover some items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be found in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Every item has a success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects can be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
