World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the leveled up advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the item level. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it is able to deal. Comparing items from a vendor's stock is possible using the item's level.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item upgrading and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated by a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the item's value. This can lead to an item's ilvl calculated, which is typically very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this isn't the only factor that affects an Best item upgrade's ilvl, as the size of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage, special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to make them unique by naming them.

At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using the arrows that circle. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item by a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item upgrading are based on the item upgrade level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it's an exclusive Best item upgrade or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be found in the shops or made with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it fails.

The success rate of an Upgrade Item is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
