The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock which doubles as a charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start cleaning, recall the robot vacuums that mop, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in a blockage like a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
