iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. The i7+ is faster and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin that eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room and sweep an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. When connected to these services, we were able communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of vacuums that are cordless and are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. The V10's main drawback is its limited run time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. It's capable of sucking up most debris types and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice touch.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. Because of this, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently is power-depleted before returning to its base.
