World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increase when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all the leveled up advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

Item level is a commonly used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it will be capable of dealing with. The item level can also be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a seller.

On PC, you can see the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This process could result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to the actual Blizzard level of the item.

This isn't the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item upgrade. The location of where the item was dropped may alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses them in a variety of ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon and to motivate players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.

Another method to alter the stats of an Best item upgrader is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all shapes and sizes. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage, special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to make them unique by naming them.

Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circling arrows. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's a unique item or an item that is a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another aspect that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade items the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, this must be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in the early game as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn with the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be bought at the store or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has a success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
