UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors get worn out over time and will need to be replaced. It is crucial to be able to match the dimensions of the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.

The sprung lever can also be cut to fit more locks. This is particularly useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is further back in the door. A lever that is shorter is an excellent option for doors where the latch can be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently from lever-type handles for bifold doors that are found on the majority of doors. These handles can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double glazed doors. They come in a variety of styles and styles.

Cylinder locks are commonly found on uPVC doors, but they can also be found on other types of door. The cylinder lock operates by a key which unlocks the cylinder's casing. This exposes pins that can be aligned to those in the lock and allow them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors generally needing different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is crucial; it depends on the way your door and handle are used. External doors, for example, should be fitted with cylinders that are more secure, whereas internal doors can be secured using a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that increase security, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured accurately to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to each end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however, in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to measure. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, so it is important to make sure it's not too long.

The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This will help to deflect an attack and ensure your door is secure.

Some cylinders are designed to withstand snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the lock's break line and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a quicker and simpler method to gain access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which can delay insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated inside the base plate of the door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to bring the multipoint lock handles to their resting position after use. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple part is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also prevents your upvc door from becoming stuck in the open or closed position, as they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with sprung multipoint lock. They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes within the door handle backplate of many kinds of uPVC doors. They are sold as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
