Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or obtained from chests or missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the material or component needed to make that happen.

There are three types: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance adding a Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before being "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This allows the item upgrader to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to a new character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.

To measure the height of a building, engineers will utilize an instrument to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which can be used to obtain reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more often than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This could be a positive or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may also be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the higher the chance of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also features various sets which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They are also useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways in terms of size and shape.

There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not boost the item's stats much in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have a lot of armor or weapons already.

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. The upgrade item of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade item requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. It will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated look.
